IP Address Generator

Create synthetic IPv4 or IPv6 addresses for fixtures, mock data, and network labs. Pick a scope so the result lands in the range you actually meant, then copy or export the batch.

  • Free
  • No signup
  • Runs locally

Generated locally with the Web Crypto API; nothing is sent to a lookup service.

Scope-aware output

Private, public, loopback, and link-local stay in their real ranges, so a fixture never accidentally looks like a public host when you meant 192.168/16.

IPv4 and IPv6 in one place

Switch version and scope without leaving the page. IPv6 results are compressed to the shortest RFC 5952 form.

Batch copy and export

Generate 1, 10, or 50 addresses, copy the whole list, or download CSV or JSON for a seed script.

IP Address Generator questions

What does the scope option change?+
The scope picks the range. Public IPv4 avoids RFC 1918, loopback, link-local, CGNAT, documentation, and benchmark blocks; private uses 10/8, 172.16/12, and 192.168/16; loopback uses 127/8; link-local uses 169.254/16.
Are generated public IPv4 addresses routable?+
They are syntactically valid and outside the reserved ranges, but they may already belong to a real network. Do not assign them or treat them as free addresses; use them only as test data.
Which IPv6 scopes are available?+
Global unicast (2000::/3), unique local (fc00::/7), link-local (fe80::/10), and loopback (::1). The output is compressed per RFC 5952.
Is anything sent to a server?+
No. Bytes come from the Web Crypto API in your browser. The page works offline after it loads.
Can I generate a whole subnet?+
Not on this page. It produces independent addresses, not a contiguous block. For subnet planning, use a subnet calculator and treat these values as unrelated samples.
